This website contains summaries of A Thousand and one night (The Arabian Nights). I have read and summarized The Arabian Nights paperback by The Modern Library, ISBN: 978-0-375-75675-7). The paperback edition has a selection from the tales.
In the next phase I will start summarizing The Arabian Nights – Tales of 1001 Nights by Penguin Classics (ISBN: 978-0-140-44938-9. This series contains all the stories in a modernized language. I will re-read stories and revise their summaries as well as adding new ones. These volumes are divided into nights, which I will mention them in the summaries as well.
You can find a free and legal copy of The Arabian Nights at the Gutenberg Project (see separate books below for links).
This project was started on January 18th 2013 and has been updated ever since (latest update: May 6th, 2016).

Thank you very much for this awesome site 😉
thank u
Thank you! I’ve been looking for a site like this for a long long time.
I am thrilled! So beautiful!
I have just randomly come across this site and love it! I have an eight year old daughter who adores the ‘1001 nights’. The beauty of the individual plot reductions provided lies in the subsequent embellishment and extemporisation required to flesh them out and make them alive again. For full effect, this of course requires there to be both someone telling the story aloud and someone, an audience (of one in the case of my daughter) in whom the revitalised stories comes can alive unadulterated by the wording of the reductions. The reader is able therefore to approach in the their own unique way the persona and role of the story teller Scheherazade while the listener takes on that of the rapt Sultan hanging (hopefully) on every uniquely uttered word…
